Winter in Korce, Albania

I thought you would enjoy some scenary from the Korce area.

Loving Albania's Poor...

Over the past 2 weeks or so, I had the blessing of returning again to visit and serve at our church and radio station in the South Eastern city of Korce. A lot of the time I spent in Korce was with a project the church in Korce is involved in which they call "Family Care." Family Care is a ministry desiring to show love and care for the many poor in the city. Because there are so many poor in Korce, this project attempts to reach to the poorest of the poor, those whose needs are most pressing. Currently the project supports 100 families. Every month each family is visited and brought food and clothing, a Bible and a small solar-powered radio fix-tuned to our Christian radio station, Radio Emanuel. The reason as to why these people are so poor varies, some are sick, some widowed, others are handicapped or minorities or just not able to find work for one reason or another. Regardless of the reason, the Emanuel Mission church in Korce is on a mission to encourage and show the love of Jesus to those who need it most in their city. Above you can see pictures of some of the families I was blessed to be able to visit during my time in Korce. It brought us joy to see families and individuals filled with joy and encouragement when we would simply visit them in their homes and spend time with them. So often during our visits we would have opportunity to pray with the people and share with them about Jesus' love for them.
